"Monsieur Jussome introduced me to a chief called Big White Man, which well designated him, and told him I was one of the chiefs of the white men and did not concern myself with trade, which somewhat surprised him, until told that my business was to see the countries, converse with the natives, and see how they could more regularly be supplied with arms, ammunition, and other articles they much wanted.
